The company provided its facilities and logistical support, as it is committed to developing thriving communities by promoting sports.

Salmones Camanchaca’s Playa Maqui farming site is located in the middle of Lake Llanquihue in Frutillar, Los Lagos Region, which was the venue for the Qualifying Regatta for the Chile Sunfish Class organized by the National Sports Institute and the Chilean Sailing Federation (FEDEVELA). The winners on this occasion were Constanza Olivares in the women’s category and Ricardo Seguel in the men’s category, and they will represent Chile at international sailing championships for this category during the year.

The company provided its facilities for this event together with all the logistical support it required, as it is committed to contributing to the community and its environment, as described by its Sustainability Model under the Thriving Communities pillar, and on this occasion it supported local nautical sports. The company also donated equipment to the eight competition winners.

“This is the first time that our facilities have been involved in an event such as this and we are very pleased with the results. Encouraging sports in local neighborhoods undoubtedly builds Thriving Communities, and this is aligned with Salmones Camanchaca’s commitment to actively contribute to our local communities”, explained Alfredo Tello, the company’s Sustainability Manager. He also mentioned that after this success, a collaborative alliance was established with the Chile Sunfish Class Sailing School, to arrange similar events that promote this sport among children living near Playa Maqui and encourage them to have fun on this important lake for the area.
