Antiparasitic Use

Antiparasitics are needed to treat sea lice when certain regulatory limits are approached and to ensure fish health and welfare. Treatments must be prescribed and supervised by a certified veterinarian. The amount of antiparasitic used is calculated as the amount of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API in grams) per tonne of fish produced (LWE). ). It is calculated for closed cycles on a 12 month rolling basis; updated quarterly.

antiparasitic use (g API/tonne LWE) = grams of pharmaceutical ingredient
(final live biomass LWE + mortality biomass LWE + harvest biomass LWE) – (initial biomass LWE)
